Lavender Arch Window Cat Suncatcher

Every cat has a favourite window. This suncatcher is shaped like a small arched windowpane, and inside it a watercolor cat sits with its back to us, looking out over a hazy garden edged with lavender. The washes of lilac and soft green are loose and airy, so the piece looks gentle rather than busy when the light shines through.

It is a watercolor-style illustration printed on acrylic, showing a cat in general rather than any particular cat, which makes it an easy gift for a friend whose cat you have never met.

• Shape: arched window outline, hangs from a chain at the top.
• Sizes: 6 in or 8 in tall (approximate).
• Palette: lavender, sage, cream and a little blush.

Choose 6 in for a narrow window or a small gift box, 8 in when it will hang on a wider pane. Dust it now and then with a soft cloth; avoid rough sponges.
