This page describes, in plain words, which details about you reach us when you browse or order, why we need them, who else touches them, how long they stay, and how to ask us to show, fix or erase them. The business behind the shop is Pet Petal, 620 H St, Fairbury, NE 68352, US. Every privacy question or request has one route: an email to <a href=\"mailto:support@petpetal.shop\">support@petpetal.shop</a>.</p>\n<section class=\"policy-summary\">\n<h2>Your privacy in short</h2>\n<ul>\n<li>We ask only for what is needed to make, ship and support your order: name, email, addresses and the personalisation you type.</li>\n<li>A pet&#8217;s name and years, such as &#8220;Luna 2012 – 2026&#8221;, are kept with the order record because they are part of what you bought.</li>\n<li>We never ask you to upload a photo. A photo reaches us only if you choose to email one, and we delete it 30 days after delivery.</li>\n<li>Payment details are entered with the payment provider shown at checkout, not stored on our site.</li>\n<li>We do not sell your information or trade it with advertisers.</li>\n<li>Access, correction and deletion requests from the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand all go to <a href=\"mailto:support@petpetal.shop\">support@petpetal.shop</a>, and we reply within 24 hours on business days.</li>\n</ul>\n</section>\n<h2>1. The details that reach us, and where they come from</h2>\n<h3>1.1 What you type at checkout</h3>\n<p>Our store runs on WooCommerce. To place an order you enter a name, an email address, a billing address and a shipping address. If you are sending a memorial suncatcher straight to a friend, for example a teardrop suncatcher for someone in Halifax, the friend&#8217;s name and address become the shipping address on that order. Please only enter someone else&#8217;s address when you are sending them a gift, and keep it accurate so the parcel reaches the right door.</p>\n<h3>1.2 What you type on the product page</h3>\n<p>Each product has built-in fields: a breed select, a pet&#8217;s name field, an optional years or year field or tagline, and style, flower or verse selects. Whatever you choose and type is saved as part of the order line, because it is literally the text we print. If you order three acrylic ornaments for three cats in one cart, all three names sit on that one order. There is no photo upload anywhere on the site; our designs are breed illustrations, not copies of a photo, so we do not need one.</p>\n<h3>1.3 What you send us by email</h3>\n<p>Support is by email only. When you write to us, we receive your email address, your message and any attachment you decide to include. The most common attachment is a picture of a problem, such as a heart ceramic ornament with a chipped edge, or a screenshot of the live preview showing &#8220;Mohci&#8221; when you meant &#8220;Mochi&#8221;. You choose what to attach; nothing is collected from your device or gallery.</p>\n<h3>1.4 What your browser shares automatically</h3>\n<p>Like any website, the servers that deliver petpetal.shop receive basic technical data with each request: your IP address, browser type, device type, the page requested and the time. This is used to deliver pages, keep the cart working and protect the site from abuse. The cookies involved are described in section 4.</p>\n<h3>1.5 What the payment provider tells us</h3>\n<p>When you pay, the payment provider shown at checkout processes the payment and lets the store know whether it went through, together with a transaction reference. Card numbers and account passwords are entered with that provider, not with us, and our site does not store them.</p>\n<h2>2. Why we use each detail</h2>\n<table>\n<caption>Purpose of the information we hold</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Detail</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">What we use it for</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">What would happen without it</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Name and shipping address</td>\n<td>Labelling and sending the parcel from the USA to you or your gift recipient</td>\n<td>We could not deliver the order</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Email address</td>\n<td>Order confirmation, shipping notices and replies to your questions</td>\n<td>You would not hear from us about your order</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Billing address</td>\n<td>Matching your payment with the payment provider and keeping sales records</td>\n<td>The payment may be declined</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Pet&#8217;s name, years, tagline and style choices</td>\n<td>Printing your piece exactly as typed, and checking it again if you report a problem</td>\n<td>We would not know what to print</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Photos you email</td>\n<td>Seeing a damaged or incorrect item so we can sort out a replacement, return or refund</td>\n<td>We would ask you to describe the issue instead</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Technical data and cookies</td>\n<td>Keeping the cart and checkout working, security and page speed</td>\n<td>The cart and checkout would not function</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<p>We do not use your pet&#8217;s name, your order history or your messages to build a profile of you. If we ever send a newsletter, it would go only to people who opt in, with an unsubscribe link in every message. At this time the store does not send marketing emails.</p>\n<h2>3. Who else sees your information</h2>\n<p>Running a shop means a few outside services handle some of your details for us. Each one receives only what its job needs:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Our website host and WooCommerce software</strong> store the order record, including addresses and personalisation text.</li>\n<li><strong>Cloudflare</strong> sits in front of the site to speed up pages and filter malicious traffic, so it sees technical request data such as IP addresses.</li>\n<li><strong>Any printing or delivery service involved in your order</strong> receives the shipping name, address and the text to print, so your piece can be made to order and reach you.</li>\n<li><strong>The payment provider shown at checkout</strong> receives what it needs to take the payment, under its own privacy terms.</li>\n<li><strong>Our email provider</strong> carries our conversations with you.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>We may also share information when a law, court order or tax authority requires it, or when we need to protect customers from fraud. If the shop were ever sold or merged, customer records would pass to the new owner under the same promises made on this page. <strong>We do not sell personal information, and we do not hand it to advertising networks.</strong></p>\n<h2>4. Cookies on petpetal.shop</h2>\n<p>Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Two kinds are used here:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>WooCommerce session and cart cookies.</strong> These remember what is in your cart as you move between pages, keep your checkout session together and, if you log in, keep you signed in. Without them, the ornament you just added would vanish from your cart on the next click.</li>\n<li><strong>Cloudflare security and performance cookies.</strong> These help Cloudflare tell real visitors apart from automated attacks and deliver pages quickly. They are not used to follow you around other websites.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>No advertising or analytics tracking is used on the site at this time. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first and, where the law asks for it, you will be asked for consent before any such cookie is set. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time; blocking the WooCommerce cookies will stop the cart and checkout from working.</p>\n<h2>5. How long each detail is kept</h2>\n<table>\n<caption>Retention periods by type of information</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Information</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">How long we keep it</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Order records (names, addresses, items, personalisation text)</td>\n<td>As long as tax, accounting and consumer law requires, and long enough to handle a return within 60 days of delivery</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Photos you email us</td>\n<td>Deleted 30 days after delivery of the order they relate to</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Support emails</td>\n<td>As long as they help resolve your request or an open return or refund</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Cart and session cookies</td>\n<td>Until the session ends or the cookie expires</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Store credit balance</td>\n<td>Store credit never expires, so the record linking it to you stays while a balance remains</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<p>Because returns are open for 60 days from delivery, we keep the personalisation text at least that long. If &#8220;Biscuit&#8221; arrives on a 6 in peony suncatcher and you decide it does not suit the kitchen window after all, we need the original order to process the return. When a record is no longer needed, it is deleted or stripped of anything that identifies you.</p>\n<h2>6. Keeping your information safe</h2>\n<p>The whole site is served over encrypted HTTPS, and Cloudflare filters harmful traffic before it reaches the store. Access to order records is limited to the people who need them to make, ship and support your order. Payments are handled by the payment provider, so card details never pass through our database. No system can promise perfect security; if a breach affected your information, we would tell you and the relevant authority as the law where you live requires.</p>\n<p>A few habits help on your side too. We will never ask for a card number, password or bank code by email. Please do not put payment details in a message to us. If an email that looks like it is from Pet Petal asks for that kind of information, forward it to <a href=\"mailto:support@petpetal.shop\">support@petpetal.shop</a> and do not reply to it.</p>\n<h2>7. Your rights, wherever you order from</h2>\n<p>We sell only to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The laws differ by country and, in the US, by state, but the practical rights are similar, and you use them all the same way: email <a href=\"mailto:support@petpetal.shop\">support@petpetal.shop</a> from the address you used for your order.</p>\n<h3>7.1 United States, including California</h3>\n<p>Several states, including California under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, give residents the right to know what personal information a business holds about them, to receive a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. Since we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still ask. You can also name an authorised agent to make a request for you; we will ask for proof of that authority. Using any of these rights will never change the prices or service you receive.</p>\n<h3>7.2 Canada</h3>\n<p>Under PIPEDA, you can ask what information we hold about you, how it has been used and who it has been shared with, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Many of our Canadian orders are gifts, such as a memorial suncatcher sent to a friend in Halifax; the recipient can also ask what we hold about them.</p>\n<h3>7.3 Australia</h3>\n<p>Under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, you can ask to access the personal information we hold and to correct it. If you have a concern about how we handled it, tell us first; if we cannot resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.</p>\n<h3>7.4 New Zealand</h3>\n<p>Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask for your personal information and ask for it to be corrected. If a garden slate pack of 3 was split between siblings in Auckland and Perth, each person can ask about their own address details. Unresolved complaints can go to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand.</p>\n<h3>7.5 How we handle a request</h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Email <a href=\"mailto:support@petpetal.shop?subject=Privacy%20request\">support@petpetal.shop</a> with the subject &#8220;Privacy request&#8221; and say what you would like: a copy, a correction or deletion.</li>\n<li>Include the order number or the email used at checkout so we can find your records.</li>\n<li>We reply within 24 hours on business days, and may ask a simple question to confirm the request really comes from you.</li>\n<li>We complete the request within the time your local law allows and tell you what was done. If a law obliges us to keep part of a record, such as a tax record, we say which part and why.</li>\n</ol>\n<h2>8. Children</h2>\n<p>Pet Petal is a shop for adults buying for their homes or as gifts. It is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. A child&#8217;s name might appear as a tagline or gift note typed by an adult, which is treated as part of the order. If you believe a child has sent us personal details, email us and we will delete them.</p>\n<h2>9. Where your information is processed</h2>\n<p>The store is run from the United States and orders ship from the USA. If you order from Canada, Australia or New Zealand, your details are processed in the United States and possibly in other countries where our service providers operate. We expect those providers to protect your information to the standard described on this page.</p>\n<h2>10. Updates to this page</h2>\n<p>When our services or the law change, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will say so clearly on the site before the change applies. The version in force when you placed an order continues to cover that order&#8217;s data.</p>\n<h2>11.
